Approx one year old Happy, lovely happy docile female dog arrived at one of our members' home. She's very well behaved with other dogs and gets along with every single person that comes to the house. she'll be perfect for a family and a multidog household. She's about knee high. Soon she'll be sterilized.

Orkos Puppies

There were 5 puppies found by an Austrian couple, they adopted two and a third one was adopted here in Naxos. Now... we are left with two puppies to rehome, a girl (fluffier one) and a boy
They are very well socialized, get along with cats and will make wonderful pets. They should be around 3 months old.

Kikitsa

Female dog around three years old found in st. george beach with a hurt leg, she was definitely abandoned and the owners disappeared and no one claimed for her although we tried and tried to reach them. Now she's looking for a home that will not just dump her as a a garbage bag to the streets.
She's being fostered for one of our members but she cant stay there for long.... she has a lovely character !

ORESTE

found, almost starving, on the road near Gallini
he no longer has diarrhoea and I have taken him to be wormed and de-flead and removed the ticks.
he has already put on weight and next week we can castrate him and do the
vaccinations.   He comes when called (I have named him Oreste), is very loving and
responsive. The vet thinks a year to a year and a half old.
not house-trained. But obedient.

KATY

About 1 and half years old and small for her breed. Thrown out after a life so far spent on a chain (had very long claws when she was found desperate and alone and hungry on an unfamiliar road). Very affectionate and gentle, really listens and is ready to make a loyal pet, very calm so good as a companion animal in a home. LOLA

Very sweet and friendly medium sized female dog who has been badly neglected but with a little TLC (a good bath and comb) would be a very beautiful companion animal. Her playful puppy is not used to contact with people and is shy but with patience could be easily socialised.
LAST UPDATE !! - Lola is now being fostered to get her used living with caring humans, she's very sweet and loves all the attention she's getting.

TEDDY

Teddy was obviously a mistreated dog, he was wondering the streets on a broken collar fixed with wire (fortunately we got him before he got hurt from this) By his submissive behaviour you can easily tell he's been beaten in his previous home, and probably never left out of a chain. He was very afraid of people, we tried to help him for about a month until he finally agreed to get close to us. He's been fostered now, and he shows that he's so thankful to their fosters for providing him with love he never knew before. Teddy is a big dog, like a teddy bear, loving and quiet, he gets along perfectly with other dogs and loves to be petted. He is above knee high and should weight around 28-30 kilos. He will soon be taken to vet for castration and vaccinations.

ANNIE

This black beauty was found roaming in a village alone and very thin by the Agricultural Police. A farmer claimed the dog had been in a field where he kept sheep. NAWS took the dog from the police while the owner was being searched for – she has a microchip but unfortunately the corresponding telephone number recorded by the vet is incorrect. Syros Police HQ have now given up trying to find the owner and have dropped the case (the farmer wanted to prosecute and receive money). Annie is now looking for a new home before the Agricultural Police take her away from NAWS and have her destroyed. She deserves a second chance and is a super friendly, sweet natured dog that would make a loving pet for the right person or family. Can YOU help?
NAWS will fund transport to Germany and help with the paperwork if adopted abroad.

TERRY

Lovely Terry was found in Kastraki area together with June - already rehomed ... see rehomed animals page - but Terry stil needed to build his trust to humans, NAWS decided to get a trainer and work on his behaviour, it was the right thing to do because with the care of a dedicated member Terry is now a totally different dog, he trusts humans, he walks on a lead and he goes out for coffee on beach bars with his friend Annie!!! ..... now we can rehome him and know that he'll behave well in his new home.

BLONDY

Blondy was an abused and neglected, one and a half year old female dog. He is friendly but a bit shy. He was taken away from a shepherd in secret. He is a mix German Shepherd.

LITTLE TERRIER

Little Terrier was found wondering the streets in Naxos Town ... probably abandoned by its owners was looking for her way back home. She's young and approx 2-3 yrs old. . Would be ideal for a small apartment.

BIG FOOT's MOM

This lovely neglected female dog is living in an abandoned lot in Grotta Area, some volunteers of NAWS are feeding her and rehomed a couple of her puppies, unfortunately Big Foot didn't make it. Now NAWS will sterilize her so will not have to go through that again and beside that we have to rehome her as she never felt loved in her life and is just not fair. She's friendly and around 50 cm high. Around 2-3 yrs old. Wont grow more.
